Residents wanting access to the City of Russellville municipal code now have an online alternative after the Russellville City Council voted to update its listings on www.municode.com.
The web site includes municipal code contents for more than 4,000 cities. Although the City of Russellville’s listings on the site are not new, they have not been updated in several years, Mayor David Grissom said. Citizens will now have the ability to review the code online without having to make a trip to city hall.
In other action, the council:
–approved a $5,000 expenditure in funds and in-kind work toward the survey and nomination of the downtown historical district to apply for tax credits.
–granted a 60-day extension request from Hovater’s Metal Work for the completion of Hal Kirby Jr. Park due to inclement weather slowing the project down.
–accepted resignation from Brian Vickery, patrol officer with the Russellville Police Department and declared a vacancy for the same.
–approved the purchase of a tractor with boom arm mower for $72,000 from the Alabama Department of Transportation surplus property list.
–considered quotes for the painting of the pagoda at Russellville High School tennis courts and the painting of the exterior of the Russellville Public Library.
–waived the rental fee for the A.W. Todd Centre for the RHS Band to use the facility on May 8, 2017.
