Shoals mayors cite infrastructure improvements coming in 2024

In Russellville, Mayor David Grissom said the city council approved a $12,761,522 fiscal 2024 budget, the city’s largest general fund budget ever.
“The budget was highlighted by significant raises for all city employees as recommended by their department heads,” Grissom said.
He said the city is currently working on a $508,770 Transportation Alternatives Program sidewalk project that involves rebuilding sidewalks and lighting on Montgomery Street, Limestone Street, and Jackson Avenue in the city’s downtown district.
“We are also excited about being named a Main Street Alabama Designated Community and look forward to more improvements in 2024 in our downtown district,” Grissom said.
