The Russellville Fire and Street departments are getting new equipment.
The city council approved a $157,715 Assistance of Firefighters Grant, which will provide new air packs for the department.
“This is something that they can’t do without,” Mayor David Grissom said. “This equipment is vital, but it is also expensive. Thanks to this grant we will be able to provide new air packs to the firefighters.
Also, the council approved the purchase of a new “knuckle boom” truck for the Street Department at the cost of $139,240.11.
The funding will come from a line of credit the city maintains at CB&S Bank.
